We've got two new patriotic themes for this year only - an American Flag and a silhouetted Sikorsky H-60 helicopter. Each have personal significance to me. The flag design is an appreciative nod to this Nation’s precious public lands and waterways that we enjoy spending so much time in. As Americans, we are uniquely fortunate to have public access to some of the most stunning places on earth.
The helicopter design is a salute to our American military aviators working around the world. The Sikorsky H-60 helicopter has been the backbone of US military aviation for decades now and continues to play vital roles in every branch of the service. As a retired Coast Guard pilot, this one is especially meaningful to me. I actually pulled the image used for the hat, directly from a photo taken while I was lifting off in a US Coast Guard, Air Station Traverse City, H-60 helicopter from Green Lake's grass strip. (Thank you, Joey Gryzenia for assisting w/ the art).
The intent was to put forth something that our clients and northern Michigan boaters would wear with pride. I know myself and the team at Northern Lakes Boat Co. certainly will while detailing boats, delivering rentals, and pulling boats out of storage to summerize and launch for the year. I hope to see you sporting yours on the lake this summer!
